How to change GP

It is very rare for a patient to request a change of GP - however should this become absolutely unavoidable, you will need to put your request in writing.

We are unable to facilitate specific requests for a particular named GP. Patients are reallocated depending on who is next in line with capacity to add to their list at the time of the request.

Your right to see a different GP

It is possible to request to see a male GP if you are registered with a female GP for a particular appointment. Likewise, you can request to see a female GP if you are registered with a male GP.

You do not need to request to change your registered GP permanently.
