Dr Connan News

Dr Peter Connan will be retiring from General Practice at the end of June 2018.

Dr Connan has taken the lead in many specific areas including the Patient Group. After more than 27 years of dedication and commitment to Huntingdon Road and Girton Surgeries we understand that this will be sad news for his patients, as it has been for us all here. However, we would of course like to wish Dr Connan the very best and a most enjoyable, lengthy retirement.

Dr Adam Maguire

Dr Adam Maguire will start work at the surgery from the beginning of August and will take over the care of Dr Connan's patients. Dr Maguire has worked at the surgery in the past when he was a Registrar and hence he knows the practice well. We are looking forward to working with him again

Community Midwives

Midwives are specialists in maternity care. They are involved throughout pregnancy, delivery and in the first few weeks after the birth of the baby.  The patients at our surgery are looked after by a team of midwives who work from Children's Centres and occasionally see patients in the surgery.  The maternity packs provided on confirmation of your pregnancy contain up to date information about how to contact the team of midwives.  They can also be contacted at the Cambridge Children's Centre on 01223 586787.

Community Nurses

The district nurses work within patients' homes carrying out an assessment of the patient's needs, providing skilled nursing care and offering support and advice to those persons caring for the patient.

Health Visitors

Our patients have access to a child and family team, comprising of qualified nursery nurses and health visitors.  This team supports families and children under the age of 16years.  The team can be contacted Monday to Friday by telephoning 01223 477559.
